In the drama, Good Morning Call, Uehara’s favorite food is cabbage rolls. Despite never eating them before. I decided to attempt to make them. In fact, I have never heard of cabbage rolls before watching this drama.
Stuffed cabbage rolls are blanched cabbage leaves that are filled with various fillings. This was introduced to Japan in the late 1800s. Cabbage rolls are apart of many countries’ cuisines in Europe, Iran, and Western Asia.
Deciding how to make them
I thought about looking for a restaurant nearby that serves them, but I doubt they would since it’s not a popular Japanese dish. Thus, I decided, as usual, to make them. I went to my favorite go-to site for Japanese cuisine, Just One Cookbook. I didn’t really care for the tomato-based sauce and so I searched for more recipes. Then I found another one of my favorite Japanese cuisine website that is for a PBS cooking show I like to watch sometimes.
The Cooking Process and Reaction
Making the cabbage rolls took a lot longer than I was hoping. My whole family was starving and I didn’t realize it would take so long. Once the food was completed, it was the most delicious thing ever. I know I say that about most of the food I make. But it’s true!! I was trying to give them to my brother because everybody needs to try these delicious things. EVERYBODY! You get a cabbage roll and you get a cabbage roll!!
Name Inspiration
The mesh of these two recipes, plus a little more that I added in order to make the cabbage rolls look like Nao’s. I discovered that the cabbage rolls I created to be a wonderful success. They are named Love Ai Cabbage Rolls because they are make with twice as much love as regular food (so lame but true! hahaha). I hope you enjoy it!

So I thought about it and I’m planning to order some vegetable cutter so that next time I make these I will have pretty hearts.
