“They were drinking sloe gin fizzes (in the way that Americans have of bringing their culture with them wherever they go).” Wait…a sloe gin fizz is an American thing? I thought as I read this sentence in the book A White Rose.
I had never had a sloe gin fizz. In fact, I have never heard of it before either. Is it really an American thing? I went to ask the great and might Google.
What is a Sloe Gin Fizz?
Sloe Gin fizz is a cocktail that is served on the rocks in la highball glass. It contains sloe gin (which is a drink made with sloe–an fruit native to Europe), lemon juice, simple syrup, soda water, and egg white. Since the egg white said optional online, I opted out.
Sloe gin was drunk by the Brits straight, but when the Americans got it. They made it into a delicious cocktail.
Searching for Ingredients
It’s feel like it’s nearly impossible to find sloe gin. The liquor stores by my house to discover that it’s not that common of a drink. I considered buying it online, but I didn’t want to wait. So I went online to see if I could find a store that sales it and I did.
The other ingredient I either had or were easy to find. I did buy highball glasses from the dollar tree.

Notes
Thoughts
At first I was hesitate, I wasn’t sure I like it. But the best way I can describe it that is a fruity drink for a mature taste. It has a fruity taste, but it doesn’t overwhelm the drinker. It doesn’t taste too sweet and it’s nice and smooth.
Have you tried this cocktail before? DO you want to?
