Last time when I wrote about travel locations from Good Morning Call, it was so easy. The name of places was the name of places. I didn’t have to struggle. The drama travel spots for Good Morning Call: Our Campus Days took so much work that I checked out and lost interest for awhile. But I returned to finish this article. Here it is! So I honestly hope you appreciate it.
Tamachi Squirrel Park
In episode 3 of Good Morning Call: Our Campus Days, Nao runs into Natsume and they end up taking his little sister to a squirrel park. In the drama the park is called Tamachi Squirrel Park, but when I google it, a different park come up. I think they either changed the name or it was incorrectly translated.
But that’s besides the point. There’s a whole park dedicated to squirrels! It is located in Machida in Tokyo. They have over 200 squirrels and many other animals. It’s open year round except on holidays. And the price for adults is 400 yen (Approximately $3.50). You can find pictures online.

Flowerland
Flower Land is a fun vacation spot that Abe got tickets to go visit in episode 8 of GMC: Our Campus Days. He invited Nao, Ota, Marina, Mitsuishi, Natsume, and Uehara (Saeko came along since she was nearby). When they arrived, Nao and Natsume won meat for being the first couple after the millionth customer (strange). Anyways, while they were there they went to the beach to collect shells, they made crafts with the shells, and they had a cookout.
The place called Flower Land is actually difficult to find. After a Google search, all I found was a Shirahama Flower Park (the company could have changed it’s name more recently). On the website Trip Advisor, the pictures do look like the same place that they visited on the drama. So I’m assuming that it’s the same place. The location is in Minamibosa and it’s right on the beach as well.
The Love Statue
I think the first time that I saw the love statue in a drama was in the drama Hana Yori Dango. I got excited about it since there’s one in my city too. This specific statue is located in Shinjuku area of Tokyo. It turns out that this art is created by an American named Robert Indiana. It was originally created for print in the 1960s, but then created into a sculpture in the 1970s. The original is located in the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Here’s a list of locations that have one. There’s one at the University that I graduated from, I’ve always wanted to take a picture with it, but I was always busy.
Sky Tree
The Sky Tree is a location that was mentioned in the first season as well so I won’t go into too much detail. But I do like that the drama gives us a different look at the same location. In fact, I don’t think we actually visit the Sky Tree in the first one. Daichi and Nao are just eating the Sky Tree ice cream.
Towa Park
If you knew how long it took me to find this park, you’d think I’m a sad person! It took a long time. Until finally I typed the right words into Google and found it. It turns out that there is no Towa Park. That’s a fictional park because this real park is located in Funabashi City. The park’s actually name is H.C. Andersen Park which is inspired by the Danish writer, Hans Christian Andersen. This park is so beautiful. It’s no wonder they chose it for the show.
The park offers a lot of fun and interesting things to do, especially for children. I looked through the pictures on Trip Advisor and I’ve decided that I have to go. It looks like so much fun and I could honestly spend a whole day there with my family.
In the Hill Zone of Fairy Tales is where Nao and Uehara met. Not only is the fountain and windmill in this area, but also you will also find a replica of a farmhouse that could be found during Andersen’s time. And there’s a Solar Pond where you can ride boats and see the boat house. There is so much more to do. Click here to see what else the park offers! and here for the official website.
I would love to go to Andersen Park. Which location looks most interesting to you?
